Great Expectations: Quote

In the quote, Pip is thinking about a certain day that he remembers. He remembers that day because there were many events that took place. I think that the quote when it says "the long chain of iron or gold" its meaning that things can go on for a while even if its good or bad. When it says "thorns" it means the bad events that may come your way; when "flowers" means happy events that could come your way. Pip also discovers something on this day, that he wants to become something more than a blacksmith.

The event that began the chain of my life would have to be when i first moved to Centennial Elementary School. I got to pick my teacher and i picked her because she was pretty! It was the beginning of 3rd grade and this school was all new to me. But i met some of my really close friends at that school which I'm still close friends with all of them. All of my friends from that school all were on a soccer team and i decided that i would join that team to make some new friends and try a new sport. I joined the soccer team and had a BLAST! Ever since that day i have been the person that i am today, a girl with a best friend named Katherine Frank and a passion for soccer.
